        • 1. Scary school – Amari rati

This year, similarly to the previous ones, our school organised Halloween Afternoon and Night for all pupils of our school. The members of our School Parliament altogether with our teachers prepared thrilling and funny activities throughout the whole night. The programme for pupils started with face painting at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. This activity was followed by a programme held in the gym. Thanks to our school TV CINKA, led by Mrs. Danková and Mrs. Rogožníková, our pupils could watch short video reports which humorously highlight the daily routine of teachers’ and pupils' life at school. After that, smaller pupils went to look for ghosts in the school playground and then hooray for disco. Those who did not wish to dance could watch a fairy tale or work in workshops. Even the activities for older students were varied. Some of them could discharge excess of energy playing in the dodge ball tournament; others could watch movies or play games.

          2. The opening conference for the project took place at our school on 5 12.2014. During the

conference we tried to introduce our school with an eye-catching presentation and mentioned activities and projects in which our school is regularly engaged. Josef Demjan, from the local community center, familiarized participants of the conference with the mission and work of a community center in Cinobaňa. This was followed by a concise video in which guests could learn about the main goals and objectives of the project Social Inclusion. Invitation: invitation.pdf

          3. Acquisition of practical skills in drying fruit and baking Christmas wafers

Last November's day in our school was held in a spirit of Christmas

21.-22.11. Mrs. Weiss started to teach children how to bake Christmas wafers for Christmas

          market

          25. -26.11. Vanilla scent was already spreading throughout the whole school. Classes upstairs

changed to "workshops".Pupils could see with their own eyes how to knead dough following

grandma's recipe as well as how to bake Christamas waffle tubes and finally to taste them.

Bolder student even tried to bake them by themselves. In the afternoon some parents also

          joined pupils.

27.11. We returned back to the old traditions. Pupils from Year 3 sliced apples and prepared

them for drying. They did not put the slices in the oven as it once was, but they put them on

individual plates of an electric drier. Pupils were drying apples even on the first two days in

          December. It tasted excellent!

11.12. The preparation for Christmas culminated in baking and decorating gingerbread in the

local culture house. Pupils. teachers, but also women from the local branch of the Slovak Red

Cross worked altogether. Work on this project was really interesting.

          5. Christmas party

          Christmas party 2014

When I suggested another form of our school Christmas party, one of my colleagues just shook his head ‘what it will be?’. Luckily, she let herself persuade and other teachers agreed, too. So we embarked upon it.Class teachers and their children were given scenarios and they rehearsed again and again. They really enjoyed it. They pieced together a Christmass program. Everyone contributed with their piece to shape our Christmas program. What will it be?The first day of a dress rehearsal it began to crystallize, the second dress rehearsal showed what was supposed to come will be fine. And finally, the premiere came. Many thanks to everyone who contributed with this fabulous program to the fantastic Christmas atmosphere. What would it be like without the Little Match- Seller whose fingers are tingled by Jack Frost, but who is given Christmas wafles while the Feather Fairy is shaking her duvets and is saying to herself ‘I enjoy the world with you?’

          6. Medieval Christmas

          Unusual Christmas at our school

During the Christmas holidays, every Slovak family keep its customs and traditions. However, do you know how our ancestors used to spend Christmas time in the 17th century? Our students already know it. Shortly before winter holiday, the Defensores, a historical group from Fil'akovo who has been working with us several years, came to demonstrate to our pupils how customs and traditions of the 17th century were kept.  Christmas time in the 17th century lasted 12 days and the nobility and ordinary people celebrated it in rather different ways. Our students had a unique opportunity to try some contemporary customs – to decorate a Christmas log, to participate in the procession, to hand over presents to a lord, to drink a happiness potion. After the program, a surprise was waiting for children in the refectory – a period feast. Pupils could taste Christmas meals of ordinary people (meat pie and apple pie, jelly and marzipan) and teachers acted the part of the nobility and a richer table with pheasant, fish and cakes waited for them. The Headmaster became a lord who hosted his subjects. He had to complete all the rituals that took place in the past during such a feast. All guests were served in the same way as they would have been in the past.A photo for the competition ‘Living textbook’ was taken during this event and later passed to the final in an online voting to finally won the first prize. Thanks to all those who sent us their vote on Facebook. Students won the 5-day stay in Banská Štiavnica with an interesting experiential learning.

          Well-known rapper in Cinobana school

It was really hot behind the door of the cultural house in Cinobaňa on Friday, 04/24/2015. The hall echoed with the jubilation and chanting to the beats of the nationwide anthem of all Green Schools. The authors of this anthem are the former pupils of the primary school in Cinobaňa. The dynamic program presented by pupils of our primary school was followed by a tremendous climax - the baptism of CD with green tea. The well-known Slovak rapper Suvereno had the honour to perform this original gesture. He managed to cheer up a crowd of students with his energetic songs full of eloquent lyrics. Eventually, many school children danced with him on stage. Right after the show, they had the opportunity to talk with rapper himself.

The show would not do without a professional dancer. The organizers did not neglect this fact, because a dancer BIOS appeared on stage and he familiarized the students with basic choreography of break-dancing style. The main organizer Miroslava Piláriková, with her lively and humorous moderating, created a vibrant atmosphere. At the end of this beautiful day, she expressed tremendous satisfaction with the whole event.
